Business Development Rep

As a Business Development Rep (BDR) at Third Octet, you’ll engage with prospective buyers across some of Canada’s most innovative companies, helping to build meaningful relationships and drive our growth. Using your determination, quick thinking, and curiosity, you will prospect and qualify leads and opportunities for Third Octet’s solutions and managed services offerings, including warm and cold outreach. You will also partner closely with internal team members from Sales and Marketing to achieve team goals and support Third Octet’s growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a future sales hunter who wants to join a dynamic team and learn how we operate.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct in-depth market research and build targeted prospect lists aligning with our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
  • Generate leads and build relationships with IT and business leaders through high-level qualifying conversations.
  • Contact and qualify prospects through social engagement (e.g., LinkedIn), cold calls, and emails, where appropriate.
  • Challenge conventional methods by identifying new opportunities and questioning traditional approaches when targeting and qualifying leads.
  • Prioritize and organize the lead pipeline for maximum efficiency daily.
  • Articulate the value of Third Octet’s solutions and managed services to prospective clients.
  • Educate and guide buyers through their journey to learn how Third Octet can positively impact their business.
  • Identify solution stacks within Third Octet’s portfolio and determine where, why, and how Third Octet can facilitate prospects’ business and technical needs.
  • Consistently track and document all sales activities in our CRM, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for effective sales management and reporting.
  • Contribute to developing and fine-tuning sales processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Build an internal knowledge database related to what organizations do in their technology environments and the profiles of those you interact with.
  • Review IT publications and online materials to stay current with technologies emerging in the industry.

Requirements

  • Proven success in developing client relationships and driving sales in the tech industry, particularly in IT services, managed IT, or SaaS.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn about constantly changing technologies.
  • High energy and drive with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly while embracing ambiguity.
  • Self-motivated, with an entrepreneurial desire and the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
